Volunteers needed to help conduct the Hunger Study
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance is a member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks across the U.S. Conducted every four years, Hunger in America, also known as the Hunger Study, is the largest study of charitable food assistance in America. Feeding America and St. Mary’s Food Bank have partnered with Westat, a research firm, to design and execute the study.
After the tornadoes in Oklahoma, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance sent four semi-trucks full of disaster relief in the form of food and water to those hit hardest. Cox Communications saw this donation and decided they wanted to help replenish the stock of drinking water for the Food Bank.
CBS 5 viewers Pay It Forward to Make Hunger Disappear
More than $108,000 was collected during the first annual Pay It Forward: FEED OUR CHILDREN campaign hosted by CBS 5, benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Enough donations were raised to provide over 764,000 meals to families in need.
