Program Highlight : Grocery Rescue Program
St. Mary’s Food Bank’s Grocery Rescue Program enables National Feeding America donors to donate their food products directly from St. Mary’s Food Bank and our over 900 agency partners across the state for community distribution to supplement the diet of low-income households. This program also assists the community in diverting food from landfills and lowering food waste.
In fiscal year 2021 (July 20-June 21), our Grocery Rescue Program rescued
20,913,920 pounds of food!
Our year-to-date totals (July 21st-February 2022) there has been a total of
12,950,026 pounds of food rescued!
An average of 1.7 million pounds of food is rescued through St. Mary’s and our partners EVERY MONTH!
The number of agencies has increased over the past year from 63 to 83 agencies.
There are a total of 362 grocery rescue stores in our program.
Our Grocery Rescue Agency Partners pick up from a total of 220 stores EVERY WEEK!
