We Are Impressed With Your Work and, Especially, Your Food Service Training Program

We have been supporting St. Mary’s for years.  I forget the date of our first visit but we were impressed with your work and, especially, your food service training program. While they were training folks recently out of prison they were delivering those meals around the community. You set strict attendance guidelines and trained your students not only in the business of food but how to show up, support one another and take pride in their work. That year we gave you Safeway gift cards to award to students for exceptional contributions to the program. We understand that nearly or all of your graduates secure jobs in the food industry. We came to a “graduation” event for these folks and were impressed by the families of support that they had.  One grad was a member of a street gang and his other members came to show him how proud of him they were. For many of these folks it may be the only graduation they ever had.
