SMFB Programs for Partner Agencies
Agency partners may participate in one or more of the following programs with St. Mary’s Food Bank.
Donated
St. Mary’s Food Bank’s
Donated Program includes product
received from generous individuals,
community groups, stores, farmers,
and manufacturers.
Donated product varies but may
contain fresh fruits and vegetables,
non-perishables such as canned and
baked goods, and bulk product.
TEFAP Program
The Emergency Food Assistance
Program (TEFAP) provides fresh and
non-perishable food to supplement the diets of low-income households.
TEFAP is regulated, funded by the
USDA, and may include:
Emergency Food Boxes (EFB), a
pre-packaged 2-3 day supply for a
household of 4. Includes shelf
stabled items such as canned
goods, rice and beans. TEFAP Bonus product such as meat, dairy, fresh & frozen fruits and vegetables.
Large Family Bags (LFB), a prepackaged grocery bag for larger
sized households.
Senior Food Box Program
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a federally funded, USDA-regulated food program that provides monthly supplemental nutrition boxes for qualifying, low-income, enrolled seniors aged 60 years and older.
Agency Shopping
The Agency Shopping Program allows qualifying partner agencies the freedom to pick and choose food and non food items to meet the needs of their clients. Available to all agencies, Shopping is based out of our Metropolitan Phoenix warehouse.
Source Shopping
The Source Shopping Program allows partners the opportunity to purchase at low cost, high demand product often unavailable through our donation channels. Source shopping purchases can be added to your scheduled delivery.
Grocery Rescue
The Retail Grocery Rescue Program enables National Feeding America donors to give their food products directly to St. Mary’s Food Bank’s Agency Partners for community distribution to supplement the diet of low income households. This program also assists the community in diverting food from landfills and lowering food waste.
Kids Cafe
The Kids Cafe Program provides meals to low-income, school-aged children participating in after-school programs during the school year or at summer feeding locations during the summer months when school is not in session.
Backpack Program
The Backpack Program provides a bag of nutritious, easy to prepare, non-perishable food to low-income, school-aged children and their families. This ensures children receive the nutrition they need over the weekend and school vacations when free school feeding programs do not operate.
