Leticia's Story

Leticia Didn't Know How She Would Feed Her Children

But in her family’s hour of need, you gave them help and hope …

In these challenging times, we’re seeing many new faces here at St. Mary’s Food Bank — people who’ve been hit hard by inflation and soaring costs. Many are turning to us for the very first time.

Leticia is a perfect example. She is a single mom raising three children. But these days, that income isn’t stretching as far as it once did. After the rent and other bills are paid, there just isn’t enough money left to keep the kids fed.

“Things have just gotten really expensive,” Leticia said.

Leticia’s First Visit

Knowing her family urgently needed help, Leticia did a quick online search and came across St. Mary’s Food Bank. Like so many first-time visitors, she arrived not knowing what to expect. However, being warmly welcomed without judgement by our dedicated staff and volunteers put her heart at ease.

“Things are hard right now and so many people really need the help.” — Leticia

Thanks to the generosity of caring friends like you, Leticia received an array of nutritious foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, meat, canned goods, and dairy products. “It’s a real relief,” she said. She was overwhelmed with gratitude for the food she received and for people like you who help make it all possible.

“Things are hard right now and so many people really need the help,” Leticia said. “Thank you so much for the food!”

Your kind support provides more struggling neighbors like Leticia with the nutritious food their families need. Thank you!
