For 30 years, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) has conducted an annual nationwide food drive, collecting non-perishable food donations along postal routes. The Stamp Out Hunger food drive returns this spring on Saturday, May 14, 2022! St. Mary's food bank is honored to be the recipient of this noble, national food drive. Please join NALC on the second Saturday in May for the 30th annual Stamp out Hunger Food Drive, benefitting St. Mary's Food Bank!
Traditionally, the in-person food drive has been held on the second Saturday in May. For the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person food drive has been cancelled for safety and health reasons. While the pandemic caused the drive to cancel, the need for food across the country remained great. Today, over 45 million Americans, including 15 million children, experience food insecurity and rely on food banks like St. Mary's. For future updates on the food drive, check nalc.org or follow the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Facebook and Twitter.
Remind your family, friends, and neighbors to leave a bag of nonperishable food by their mailbox on Saturday, May 14, and their letter carrier will handle the rest! All donated food stays within the local community. If you have any questions about registration, contact Christina Vela Davidson at fooddrivesocial@nalc.org.
St. Mary's Food Bank serves to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education. Your contribution during Stamp Out Hunger makes an impact, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support!
