Take a Tour: Ending Hunger, Changing Lives

Do you ever wonder how a food bank really operates? Does the very phrase food bank conjure up visions of a big piggy bank with deposits of food instead of pennies? Or do you visualize more of a bank vault with security procedures and passwords? In reality, each year our food bank is open to over 500 agencies and more than 25,000 volunteers. Each day we send enough food out into the community to prepare over 100,000 meals!

We work each day to end hunger and change lives for the hungry in our community. To help the community better understand our mission we have designed a behind the scenes tour of our facilities and programs called Ending Hunger, Changing Lives. Please join us on one of the following dates to learn more about your food bank.

All tours are marked in red and are from 9am to 10am and will be done at the St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance Phoenix Central Office:

Who take our tours?

Anyone can take a tour of St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance. Anyone interested in learning more about the World's First Food Bank should feel free to attend! Tours are great for schools, camps, churches or civic groups, teaching members about food banking and those who benefit from the food bank's services. Do you need to donate when taking a tour?

Definitely not. Part of the Food Bank's mission is to educate and our tours are intended first and foremost as a way to educate the public and our donors on the Food Bank and its services.
