Wells Fargo is trying to fill the shelves of Valley Food Banks all over Arizona now through Aug. 3 with its annual statewide food drive. Simply stop into any Wells Fargo bank location, look for the food boxes set up in the lobby and help the one in four Arizona children who are struggling with hunger with a non-perishable food donation.
Donations will benefit members of the Association of Arizona Food Banks, which collectively distributed more than 131 million pounds of food last year – enough to provide 299,000 meals every day through 1,600 sites. People who wish to donate cash can send checks to the Association of Arizona Food Banks, 2100 N. Central Ave., Ste. 230, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Donations also may be made online at http://www.azfoodbanks.org.
With television cameras rolling, Wells Fargo officials visited the St. Mary’s warehouse on July 19 to speak about the need for non-perishable food items in Arizona – at St. Mary’s warehouse, stocks are down 30 percent compared to last summer – and what items the food bans need most.
The food you donate in your area will stay there and benefit the hungry in your neighborhood. This is one of the only statewide food drives and St. Mary’s Food Bank would like to thank Wells Fargo for their commitment to fighting hunger!
It’s always a great day when the friendly folks from Wells Fargo are in the house. On Wednesday, June 13, more than 60 Wells Fargo volunteers filled the Del E. Webb Distribution Center to bag potatoes, pack emergency food boxes and bring their energy to St. Mary’s.
A great supporter of St. Mary’s and all food banks in Arizona, Wells Fargo is preparing to hold its annual statewide food drive from July 16 to August 3. Last year, more than 12,000 pounds was donated to St. Mary’s during a time of the year when the food is desperately needed.
Thank you, Wells Fargo, and good luck with the 2012 Summer Food Drive.
Wells Fargo will kick off their annual state-wide food drive on June 1, with the goal of helping agencies like St. Mary’s Food Banks replenish their shelves during the traditionally challenging summer months.
From June 1-15, the public is encouraged to drop off any non-perishable, non-glass food items at any Wells Fargo or Wachovia bank branch in the state. Cereals, peanut butter, canned meats, beans and rice/pasta are especially suggested in addition to peanut butter and canned fruits, vegetables and milk.
Last year’s drive collected 58 tons of food for non-profit agencies around the state, and Wells Fargo is hoping to top that total this year.
For more information, stop into any Wells Fargo or Wachovia branch.

Several groups (Wells Fargo, Chase and other church groups) helped create the boxes our 700 agencies that help those who need it most during the holiday season. THANK YOU to our VOLUNTEERS, 98.7 THE PEAK, BOBBY-Qs and ROCKY the ROADRUNNER from the Phoenix Roadrunners.
