When you donate online to St. Mary’s Food Bank, you can schedule an eCard to be sent to family or friends in time for the Thanksgiving holiday- letting them know you care!
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to thank Goettl Air Conditioning for its generous donation of 400 turkeys to St. Mary’s Annual Super Saturday Turkey drive. It was quite a site at Tempe Marketplace when a caravan of Goettl trucks rolled up to our Harkins theatre drop-off location and an army of Goettl employees were on hand to unload the birds into the St. Mary’s bins.
The Food Bank distributed more than 16,000 turkeys to Arizona’s hungry in the week leading up to Thanksgiving, 7,000 of them during our huge one-day distribution at the Arizona State Fair. It was only due to the generosity of Arizona – and companies like Goettl, that we were able to feed more than 100,000 people through the holiday food boxes.
Thank you Goettl!

Hotel Valley Ho in Downtown Scottsdale is supporting St. Mary’s Food Bank with a Facebook campaign for the holiday season.
The hotel will donate $1 for each new fan on the Hotel Valley Ho Facebook page www.facebook.com/hotelvalleyhoscottsdale that “likes” the page between Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Eve.
The hotel will note the number of fans just before the start of Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 24. The number of fans will then be noted just after the end of the evening of New Year’s Eve – Saturday, December 31. The number of fans prior to Thanksgiving will be subtracted from the new number of fans, and that number will be given to the world’s first food bank as a donation ($1 per new fan) to help provide food for Arizona residents in need. With one dollar, St. Mary’s can distribute food enough to provide seven meals.
Hotel Valley Ho is encouraging people to spread the word; more fans mean more meals for St. Mary’s. Please visit their website and provide seven meals to the hungry with one click of the mouse!
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to thank the morning team at Channel 15 – among them anchor Connie Colla, meteorologist Amy Murphy and reporters Brien McElhatten and Kimberly Cheng – for donating their time on Nov. 23 at our Knight Client Services Center. The team packed holiday food boxes and carried them out to the client’s cars, listened to stories and even posed for pictures with those who asked.
Channel 15 is a very committed and community-minded station and one of the driving forces behind Operation Santa Claus, a charity that helps not only St. Mary’s but several other worthy charities during the holiday season. But no one had to tell Brien or Kimberly where to come for their shift – both have done several stories on the Food Bank and the incredible need our community faces due to food insecurity.
To the management and staff of Channel 15, St. Mary’s is touched by your benevolence and extends the offer to come back any time. When you distribute 275,000 meals a day, another helping hand is always appreciated!
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to thank Jeff Ottaway and his crew at Servpro for their great kickoff donation of meals consisting of turkeys, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, rolls and deserts that will feed hundreds of Arizona’s hungry during this holiday season.
Servpro managers from around the Valley were on hand on Nov. 17 to form a human chain to unload the more than 2,000 pounds of food and present it to the Food Bank. A great time was had by all and Mr. Ottaway tells us he’ll be back next year with even more.
On behalf of the hungry of Arizona, a big thank you to Servpro for their great donation and commitment to their community.
For the second consecutive year, Arizona’s own musical treasure Roger Clyne is teaming up with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance to raise awareness – and food – for families struggling with hunger this holiday season.
This year, Roger is really upping the ante. He will make a special lunchtime appearance at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance’s Del E. Webb Distribution Center (2831 N. 31st Avenue) on the day before Thanksgiving to give his fans who help the Food Bank a special treat of their own. From noon to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Roger and drummer P.H. Naffah will not only play their own selections but take requests from fans who make special donations to the food bank.
St. Mary’s is asking that fans bring turkeys, canned food or cash equal to a $10 donation to the show to help the one in five adults and one in four children in Arizona that need help to put food on the table this holiday season St. Mary’s personnel will be stationed at the entrances to the food bank to collect the donations prior to entry to the Food Bank parking lot.
Later that day, Roger will head to the East Valley and collect canned food, turkeys and cash donation from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Top Liquors in Tempe (403 W. University Drive). Clyne will be signing bottles of his ultra-premium Mexican Moonshine Tequila for those who make a donation to St. Mary’s for the holiday season.
“The food bank would like to thank Roger Clyne for giving of his time to help the hungry of Arizona and we invite his fans to come to St. Mary’s Food Bank and take advantage of this great opportunity,” St. Mary’s president and CEO Terry Shannon. “Roger is known not only for his incredible music but his big heart when he comes to helping the community. We are honored he has selected our Food Bank as a partner and are looking forward to a great day.”
So come on out and talk Turkey – and stuffing, and canned vegetables – with Roger Clyne and help Arizona’s hungry while helping yourself to a great chance to check out some great music.
The Stockyards Restaurant in partnership with Valley of the Sun United Way, Rock Springs Pies, The Celebrity Theater and the Arizona Centennial Copper Chopper (Copper Chopper) will host the Stockyards Turkey Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 22 benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. And we need your help to make a huge difference right here in our community.
For the one in five Arizonans who live in poverty, putting food on the table is often a struggle – even on Thanksgiving Day. Valley of the Sun United Way works to end hunger locally by supporting the local network of food banks to obtain and distribute adequate food to meet demand. Donating to the Stockyards Turkey Drive will give an individual or a family in need something to truly be thankful for this holiday season.
Don’t miss this turkey drive! Members of the public who donate a turkey will be able to purchase discounted Rock Springs Thanksgiving pies. Attendees will enjoy a special appearance by the official mascot of the Arizona Centennial – the Copper Chopper, and enter a drawing to win the historic motorcycle.
