The Food Plus program provides a monthly food box and nutritional education for individuals at health risk. The program currently serves more than 150,000 people, 85% of whom are seniors. Food Plus focuses on prevention - for every $1 spent on this program, $3 is realized in healthcare savings for taxpayers!
To qualify you must be:
A pregnant or postpartum woman, or a child between the ages of 1 and 6, living in a household at 185% or less of poverty level;
A senior 60 or older living at 130% or less of poverty level.
Food Plus boxes are available at our Phoenix Food Plus Center, 4211 N. 43rd Avenue (just north of Indian School), or at selected agencies and churches - there are 55 sites in Maricopa County.
