The primary mission of the Emergency Services Network (ESN) is to salvage millions of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables for distribution to hungry people.
Volunteers acquire excess produce from the fields, orchards and commercial growers of central Arizona. The ESN also serves as a transportation system for the USDA commodities programs. Nonprofit food banks, emergency food box outlets, feeding operations, Indian reservations, and church and social services programs are linked in this cost-effective distribution system.
