In 1983, the Surprise Location of St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance became a certified member of America's Second Harvest national food bank network, a nonprofit organization which solicits donations from food distributors, manufacturers and grocery stores. Each year we receive more than 1.5 million pounds of quality national brand products through this national network.

These items are shared with other Arizona food banks, for use in programs for low-income people. Through our Agency Program, we distribute this food to more than 400 other nonprofit agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, day-care centers, youth programs, senior centers, and homeless and residential shelters. TEFAP product is also used for our Emergency Food and Senior Brown Bag programs.
