St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance distributes more food into our community during the summer months, when children are out of school and away from breakfast and lunch programs, than it does during the holidays.
Join us in the challenge to Send Childhood Hunger Packing this summer with a donation to St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance of time, food or money - or hit the St. Mary's Food Bank "Trifecta" and do all three! - during the campaign which runs now through
August 31.
Summer Hunger Facts
St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance is on track to distribute more than 70 million pounds of food to families and individuals in 2011 - providing enough food for 275,000 meals every day in two-thirds of Arizona’s counties.
Combining donated financial support and the value of donated food, 96 percent of every dollar donated to the food bank goes directly to program support.
Volunteers are at the heart of the Food Bank’s work and are always in need to help pick up, sort and distribute food. St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance - with facilities in Phoenix, Flagstaff and Surprise - provides food to more than 500 partner agencies in 700 sites that serve congregate meals, domestic violence shelters, schools, churches and senior centers. Many of those agencies depend on St. Mary's for a daily, steady supply of food.
