Immediate Assistance

Are you or your family in need of food assistance? Do you know of someone who needs help?

Following is a listing of contacts in your community that can provide food assistance to you.

I need to find a place for a hot meal or food box:

I need info on getting assistance, food stamps, etc.:

Arizona Self Help
What Arizona Self Help can do:
Arizona Self Help is a free and easy way for you to prescreen for programs that are available to help you and your family. Arizona Self Help is private, they do not ask who you are and they do not share your information with anyone. Arizona Self Help will tell you where to go for help and what to bring with you, after you have answered all the questions.

What Arizona Self Help can NOT do:
Arizona Self Help cannot guarantee that you qualify for these programs. You must still apply for help by contacting and filling out the required forms for each program.

Food Stamp Pre-screening Tool

If you or someone you know needs food assistance, you might be eligible to receive Food Stamps. A new Web site can help low-income families learn if they might qualify and how much assistance they could get. Rather than issuing paper stamps, the assistance is in the form of an electronic debit card to be used at the grocery store just like any other debit or credit card.
Visit the USDA Food and Nutrition Service Web site for information and to access the pre-screening tool.

City of Phoenix Human Social Services

The John F. Long Family Services Center operates in partnership with public and private agencies to provide a comprehensive array of onsite services to meet the emergency needs of low-income Phoenix residents.
