The Daily Platter is the blog of St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Donations of food and funds dwindle during the summer months and so do the number of people who volunteer their time at St. Mary’s. With so many people out of town this time of year, we can use every available hand to help.
We need companies, churches and organizations, families and individuals to help us sort donated food, pack emergency food boxes, help distribute food to our clients at the Knight Transportation Client Center, and collect food and funds at events like concerts and sports games.
There are both morning (9 a.m. to noon) and afternoon (1 to 4 p.m.) shifts available from Tuesday through Saturday. We even have Tuesday night Rock ‘N Box events from 6 to 8 p.m. when you can come help while rocking out to the music. And our new cooling system has made the warehouse much more comfortable.
