Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Bruce Murdock. Bruce has been volunteering for 6 years- 5,200 hours total! He began volunteering right when our Knight Transportation Community Services Center first opened. Phoenix's Legal Community collects over 80,000 meals
During the month of September, the Phoenix legal community helped kick off the holiday season with the 3rd annual Object to Hunger Food Drive. Document Control Group and Ipro join TERIS as sponsors for the annual food and fund drive. This year over 30 firms and businesses competed for the title of “Managing Partner.” Food and funds collected from this year’s drive helped provide over 80,000 meals. There are only a few days left for Congress to finish their work for the year, and we have an important opportunity to pass tax legislation that would bring billions of meals to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and the Feeding America network. “We Care Wednesday” at the Arizona State Fair was an incredible success in our first year partnering with Sanderson Ford, Sanderson Lincoln and Operation Santa Claus. More than 83,000 pounds of canned food was collected during the three Wednesday’s during the run of the fair. Despite rain on two of the three days, we received an incredible amount of canned food just in time for the holidays. This is almost THREE TIMES the amount that was collected last year! Thank you to Comerica Bank Iron Mountain Shredding services and the more than 1,600 people who took part in the Second Annual Comerica Shred-A-Thon on Saturday at Comerica Theatre.
