School is out for the summer and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance is again assuming sponsorship of the 2013 Summer Food Service Program for Children. The program helps to ease demand for summer food, particularly among children who take part in the free breakfast and lunch programs offered at their schools during the school year.
This year the program has expanded and will provide meals at a record 82 sites around the Valley. Meals will be made available free to all eligible children at the open sites who are 18 years of age and under, within the approved geographical area, and without discrimination against any child because of race, color, national origin, sex age or disability. Any person who believes that he/she has been discriminated against in any USDA related activity should write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250.
