Goodwill of Central Arizona and St. Mary’s Food Bank are coming together to raise awareness this September for Hunger Action Month.
The week of Sept. 1-7, Valley residents are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food item to Goodwill (along with any donation to Goodwill), and be a part of the solution to end hunger.
From Sept. 1-4, shoppers will get specials savings include orange tags (the color of hunger awareness) and purple tags for double tag savings. That means nearly 1/3 of every Goodwill store will be on sale.
“By partnering to raise awareness, we’re combining resources to better serve populations most in need,” said Courtney Nelson, vice president of marketing and communications. “The added bonus for our shoppers is the double tag savings. Loyal Goodwill shoppers are going to be thrilled, this has never happened before! We’re excited to partner with St. Mary’s and hope lots of Valley residents donate non-perishable food items.”
Goodwill shoppers give over 250,000 pounds of food annually to St. Mary’s Food Bank.
