St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to thank those fantastic “Hunger Heroes” from CVS Caremark for providing more than 35,000 meals for their community through its annual fundraising events.
Lou Evers and CVS Caremark held the Amazing Rain Tree Pie Toss, where managers, directors and vice president’s graciously volunteered to be “auctioned off” to receive a pie tossed gently at them. Employees from all over the building joined in, and everybody had a lot of fun, as you can see from the pictures.
CVS Caremark raised more than $5,000 this year by hosting events like Jeans Week (where employees were permitted to wear jeans to the office for a week for a $5 donation), and by raffling off a flame-top Les Paul copy guitar, a Kindle Fire and a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse. The pie toss alone raised over $800 and Jim Hintzen, founder and coordinator of Jeans Week, graciously donated a guitar from his own collection to the fundraiser. (You can let go of that ax anytime now, Jim!)
What a great way to help feed neighbors in need and have a great time doing it. Thank you CVS Caremark!
