Cigna Corporate and Cigna Medical Group’s senior leadership team visited St. Mary’s Food Bank on March 19 with a food donation, able bodies to volunteer AND some special guests. With the help of Cardinals Pro Bowl Linebacker Daryl Washington, team mascot Big Red and the Cardinals cheerleaders, Cigna brought 352 pounds of rice and peanut butter – staple items in our emergency food boxes – along with a check for $10,000 from the Cigna Foundation!
The twelfth annual ‘Drive for Kids’ golf tournament is gearing up to help feed the hungry children of Arizona with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. To be held on April 5 at the Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa, this tournament will raise funds to feed the 1 in 4 children in Arizona who live in poverty.
Competing teams of architectural, engineering and construction firms are both showcasing their talents and feeding the hungry during the CANstruction® 2013 competition at the Phoenix Convention Center’s West Building.
For the 16th year, the Feinstein Foundation is challenging anti-hunger agencies nationwide, including St. Mary’s Food Bank, to raise as many funds and secure as many food donations as possible with their annual $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger. Alan Shawn Feinstein, founder of the Feinstein Foundation, will divide one million dollars proportionately among all of the agencies participating in this challenge.
Farmland Foods and Richard Petty Motorsports are in the Race to End Hunger with St. Mary’s Food Bank. On February 28, together they made a hefty donation of funds and food in an effort to raise awareness of hunger issues in the country.
