Welcome to the World's First Food Bank!

Programs: B.R.E.A.D. - Bridges Reaching the Elderly And Disabled

BREAD relies on volunteers and donated food to reach out to seniors with financial hardships that have physical disabilities.

Once each month, volunteers deliver BREAD boxes to their BREAD recipients and provide a few minutes of company to a home-bound senior. The senior not only receives much needed food, they also receive the friendship of the volunteer BREAD driver. Volunteer BREAD drivers are needed to reach deserving seniors on our waiting list. To become a BREAD volunteer, please call (602)352-3640, e-mail Volunteer Resources or fill out a volunteer application.

Included in each BREAD box are items such as peanut butter, juice, pasta, beans and cereal. Canned food may items include tuna, vegetables, and fruits. When available, fresh bread, produce and pastries are added.

To learn more about the BREAD program or agency sponsorship, please e-mail a member of the Agency Relations Team, Agency Relations.
