WHAT: The Arizona Cardinals Football Club and Albertsons will hold its annual “Food and Funds Drive” for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items – especially one-pound bags of rice and beans as well as canned fruits and vegetables – to the game and drop it off with volunteers stationed outside all entrance gates University of Phoenix Stadium.
WHEN: Sunday, Nov.16, prior to the Cardinals game against the Detroit Lions.
THE NEED: With only a short time left before Thanksgiving, St. Mary’s is in need of non-perishable items and needs to purchase thousands of turkeys for the holiday season. Your donation of food or funds will allow the one in four children in Arizona who don’t know where their next meal will come from the comfort of a traditional Thanksgiving meal with their families.
HOW ELSE YOU CAN HELP: Cash donations will be taken by volunteers inside the stadium gates – they will be wearing Cardinals hats and holding donation buckets. Every dollar donated allows St. Mary’s Food Bank to distribute enough food to provide seven meals in the community. A five dollar donation will fill an emergency food box for a family in need.
